I have been at Torres since 2008. I started as a Teacher Apprentice, and then I taught grades Kindergarten through third grade. This will be my eighth year teaching first grade.
In first grade they will continue to grow as readers working on fluency and comprehension. Students will learn to add and subtract, understand tens and ones, and compare numbers. They will build their stamina in writing and reading.
Please check their BEE Folder every day. Help them build good homework habits at home. But most importantly read with your child and have your child read to you everyday. Remember that you are their first teacher!
I'm excited to see my first graders learn and grow this year!

He estado en Torres desde 2008. Empecé como aprendiz de maestro y luego enseñé desde jardín de infantes hasta tercer grado. Este será mi octavo año enseñando primer grado.
En primer grado seguirán creciendo como lectores trabajando en fluidez y comprensión. Los estudiantes aprenderán a sumar y restar, entender decenas y unidades y comparar números. Desarrollarán su resistencia en escritura y lectura.
Por favor revise su Carpeta BEE todos los días. Ayúdelos a desarrollar buenos hábitos de tarea en casa. Pero lo más importante es leer con su hijo y hacer que su hijo le lea todos los días. ¡Recuerda que tú eres su primer maestro!
¡Estoy emocionado de ver a mis alumnos de primer grado aprender y crecer este año!
