Welcome Ms. Alcantar

July 22, 2022

Dear Families of Torres Elementary,

My name is Analaura Alcantar and I am very excited to introduce myself as the new principal of PFC Omar E Torres Elementary. I am honored to have been selected to lead an amazing school and school community. My experience with the teachers and staff of Torres has been nothing but positive, not only as an Acero leader, but as a Torres parent.

I come to you not only as a seasoned educator and leader, but as a mother of two daughters, who have had extraordinary experiences that have led to cherished memories as Torres scholars. I have served our Acero community for the past 14 years as an elementary teacher, a master teacher, assistant principal and site coordinator for the Union League Boys and Girls Club.

I know that Torres is a special place. Its depth of character, traditions and commitment to each of you, is what has created a learning environment, in which your scholars strive to reach their highest potential. I am committed along with my administrative team, to promote a campus climate that continues to be respectful, supportive and safe. At Torres every scholar matters, at Torres, every scholar succeeds.

Please know that my door is always open and I cannot wait to meet you at our first Parent Cafe and back to school event!

Sincerely,

Analaura Alcantar
Principal

Message from the CEO

June 16, 2022

Dear Acero parents, caregivers and colleagues,

Congratulations on the milestone of ending the 2021-22 school year! You have accomplished so much and demonstrated outstanding resolve and leadership. While we are in full celebration mode, Acero Schools wants to take a brief moment to thank you for your hard work, constant support and inspiring spirit.

We are deeply proud of our 655 eighth-grade graduates and our 281 twelfth-grade graduates. Our graduating seniors are making big moves by attending two- and four-year colleges, vocational schools, joining the military or stepping into entrepreneurship and employment. On behalf of every staff member across our organization - we believe in you, could not be prouder of you and know our future is in good hands.

Our eighth-grade graduates will soon call an Acero high school, selective enrollment or another public or private high school home next year. We know that you will shine as high school freshmen and make the most out of your high school experience.

To all graduates, please stay in touch, and we will do the same. You are a part of the fabric that makes Acero Schools so unique. You are what is next, and we want to remain closely connected with each of you.

To our parents, guardians and caregivers, we see your joy and are thankful for each of you. Our families have such beautiful and uplifting dreams for the future. Thank you for letting us be a part of your family’s story.

And to all of our team members - a million thank you’s will never be enough. The seeds planted by your hands catalyze real change and are the essential components leading to scholar and family agency.

We are already focused on how to do more, improve, and continue to thrive at Acero Schools. In the coming weeks, we will share our network’s next strategic plan. Because you are forever part of our community, graduating families, new families, staff, community partners and advocates will receive the plan. Thank you for everything you have done to make what is next possible.

Congratulations,

Richard L. Rodriguez

Felicidades,
