Biography
I was born in Park Ridge, Illinois where I lived until I was 8. Then I moved, with my family, out to San Diego, California. After many years there my family missed the Chicago area and we moved back. As a youth I was active in theater and drama. I have always loved to read and learn weird facts from history.
After high school, I attended Ohio University and received my BA in English Education, and earned my Master's degree in Instruction and Curriculum from National Louis University. I moved to Yuma, Arizona and taught middle school for two years before returning home to Chicago. I taught in CPS for 8 years and high school for 2 before coming to PFC Omar E. Torres. This is my 5th year here as a reading, writing, and social studies teacher. As a teacher, I have coached Drama Club and Harry Potter Club.
I've been married to my husband for 8 years and we have a 6 year old son. We also have 2 cats, a Great Dane, and an ever changing menagerie of fish. I am a life long Chicago Cubs fan and see as many shows as I can. I am pleased that my son is following in my footsteps and loves the Cubs, books, and Hamilton too!
Nací en Park Ridge, Illinois, donde viví hasta los 8 años. Luego me mudé con mi familia a San Diego, California. Después de muchos años allí, mi familia extrañaba el área de Chicago y regresamos. De joven participé activamente en el teatro y el teatro. Siempre me ha gustado leer y aprender hechos extraños de la historia.
Después de la escuela secundaria, asistí a la Universidad de Ohio y obtuve mi licenciatura en Educación en Inglés, y obtuve mi maestría en Instrucción y Currículo de la Universidad Nacional Louis. Enseñé en CPS durante 8 años y en la escuela secundaria durante 2 antes de venir a PFC Omar E. Torres. Este es mi quinto año aquí como maestra de lectura, escritura y estudios sociales. Como profesor, he sido entrenador del Drama Club y del Harry Potter Club.
He estado casada con mi esposo durante 8 años y tenemos un hijo de 6 años. También tenemos 2 gatos, un gran danés y una colección de peces en constante cambio. Soy fanático de los Cachorros de Chicago desde hace mucho tiempo y veo tantos espectáculos como puedo. ¡Me complace que mi hijo siga mis pasos y ama a los Cachorros, los libros y también a Hamilton!
